The Best Yellow Cake Ever

Once you’ve made this cake you will never go back to another box mix again. This is by far the best yellow cake I’ve ever made. So here is the recipe for this super moist cake.

1 stick of butter or margarine softened

1 1/2c sugar

3 large eggs

1 tsp vanillla

2 c all-purpose flour

1 T baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1 c milk

Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs and vanilla. Stir into creamed mixture. In a separate bowl combine the dry ingredients. You can either mix by hand or by electric mixer, add flour mix and milk to creamed mixture. Beat until smooth. Use any size cake pan. The ingredients listed will fill a 9×13 sheet pan. Bake at 350 or 25-30 minutes. Test for completed cooking by inserting a knife in the center. If the knife is clean-it is done.

DSC04465Once the cake is cooled, top with your favorite frosting.The frosting on this cake is chocolate (as you can see). My recipe for this frosting is:

1/2 c shortening

3T powdered cocoa

1- 1 1/2 c powdered sugar

3T milk

beat to the consistency of a spreadable texture. If it’s to thin add more powdered sugar. If it is to thick add more milk.
